Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

FC is one of the only engineering firms in Australia to offer this cutting-edge service. The service assesses airflow and pressure drop values through mechanical louvre systems, enabling architects to create innovative designs by hiding unsightly louvres behind perforated screens whilst minimising material usage for contractors.

Our approach goes beyond conventional physical testing and uniform stock profiles, empowering architects and building owners to realise their most creative façade designs. By compliance with AS4740 standards, FC ensures that your projects meet performance requirements and achieve aesthetic excellence.

Our CFD analysis has been successfully validated through numerous AS4740 physical testing which produced equivalent results at less than 2% error. A prime example is the Sydney Metro – Pitt Street North over station development, where the new design innovation of CFD has been successfully implemented to hide the Stations main plant room mechanical louvers on level 4.
