Pitt Street North Over Station (OS)
Client: City of Sydney
Main Contractor: CPB
Architect: Fosters & Partner and Cox
Fairlite Consulting is proud to be the façade and certifying engineer on Sydney’s iconic Pitt Street North Over Station Development. We bring an innovative approach to façade engineering, ensuring the ambitious architectural vision is realised while meeting the highest building performance and buildability is realised.
The Pitt Street North Over Station Development is a mixed-use hub featuring a 39-story premium office tower seamlessly integrated with Sydney’s evolving metro system. This project combines state-of-the-art office spaces with vibrant retail and dining options, creating a dynamic and interconnected urban environment. The project boats the largest pieces of insulated.
Our advanced and innovative computational fluid dynamics(CFD) analysis was pivotal in achieving optimal airflow and pressure drop values through mechanical louvre systems; by hiding the louvre blades behind the bespoke perforated mesh, we minimised material usage while maintaining aesthetic excellence.
Pitt St North OS featured many areas of our expertise. A bespoke bronze curved curtain wall design was fabricated and tested. FC’s design team worked with some of the largest stone fins in the country, designing not only for strength and safety but also for buildability. Blast Design was an important aspect of the build that was taken into consideration. Excitingly, Pitt St North (OS) also sees the largest sheets of glass being installed in Australia currently.
FC was the certifying engineer on the project, working closely Foster + Partners, Cox Architects CPB and Hickory.
